When I first started Robota in 2011, the idea was simple: Use off the shelf airplane kits and retrofit them with the Goose autopilot and cameras to help those with large area photogrammetry applications. Even though we still have delighted customers using our platforms from 2011, they are difficult to support when parts are not made here in Hangar 7. We realized that off the shelf parts can quickly, constantly – and without notice – become discontinued or obsolete, causing a major problem for our users. After our customers experienced challenges obtaining parts, it made sense to strive for independence with the design and manufacture of the Eclipse platform.
The result is that we can pass that independence along to our customers with the best, uninterrupted support while offering customization for unique applications.
